Competition: Kenwood House's Live by the Lake

Kenwood House at Hampstead, North London is one of my favourite public building in London. The former stately home, now owned by the English Heritage, hosts a number of paintings including those by Rembrandt and Johann Vermeer. Sadly it is closed for renovation for the time being, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the Palladian style house from the outside.

Every summer the estate hosts a number of pop and classical concerts called Live by the Lake. These live performances are situated by the lake within the Kenwood House estate inside Hampstead Heath. This year from 23-25 August and 30 August to 1 September, artists and performers such as Suede, British Sea Power, Keane, Laura Mvula, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the English National Opera will be performing on the ground. In addition to live music, a film screening of Singing in the Rain will also be shown on 30 August and a live performance of Gershwin starring Michael Ball on 1 September.

We have two tickets to give away to you dear readers. The prize will be a pair of tickets to the Opera Alfresco featuring Latin Grammy Award winning soprano Ana María Martínez on Saturday 31 August.

The winner will also receive a 12 GB PAYG ready-to-go Three UK sim card, valid for 12 months, to be used with the MiFi. With the MiFi, you can easily create you own mobile hotspot so you can connect multiple WiFi enabled devices like the iPad.

One million page views! Thank you!

Wow, there has been over one million page views on this blog since I launched it in 2004! According to Statcounter, which I have been using since the first day, there has been 750k unique visitors - 55k of who returned.

According to Flagcounter, which started tracking page views on this site since June 2009, there has been visits to this blog from 202 countries. The largest amount of visitors are from the United States (23.9%) followed closely by United Kingdom (20.6%) then Canada, Germany and Australia.

Hello dear readers! Thanks to the lovely people at Stella Artois, I have one pair of tickets to give away to an exclusive event being hosted by Stella Artois at Old Billingsgate in London on the evening of October 28 2010. Not only that, the winner will also receive a dinner for two and accomodation for a night at a top London hotel. Interested? Read on.

The event - the World Draught Masters Global Final – is the culmination of rigorous regional and national finals, where skillful bartenders from across the world gather to showcase their bartending prowess in the hopes of becoming the Stella Artois World Draught Master 2010.

The event will be a night of theatre set to a theme of 60s French chic, with the main stage reflecting old-fashioned cinema houses. There are also promises of pop up and flying mechanics and fabulous bar spaces for people to enjoy the evening. Compére on the night will be comedy stand up & TV presenter, Mark Dolan, accompanied by legendary DJ and BBC Radio 6 presenter, Eddie Piller, who will be entertaining guests into the night.

Contestants will be challenged to pour the perfect glass of Stella Artois in a number of difficult settings throughout the evening.
