My new bike: Giant Boulder 2005
It isn't exactly new (it's used), but as this is my first bike for quite some time, I would consider it a new bike regardless. Got it for £110 from a used bike store in Brighton, a steal considering that it costed £220 new (plus being a Giant is a huge bonus). Frame is aluminium 6061 (17" frame size). Front fork contains a SR Suntour SF-XC60 suspension. Gear shifters are Shimano EZ-Fire (3 front, 7 back).
Gave it a test by riding it to Portslade and back. Works fine. Frame is steady. I would need to reset the breaks though and the gears are a little bit sick too, so I would probably send it in for servicing soon. I am pretty happy with the purchase. Some things I would get rid off in the future like the crappy pedals and getting new handles, but right now it works fine as a casual "entry level" MTB.

nice bike. :)
Cheers,
For the price it's an alright bike. Quite a bargain I think but you should see what Jennifer got.
oo what did she get ?
I recently got a bike for meself too, it's only £70 with dual suspension, half from £150 from halfords. Cycled 15 miles to Heathrow haha...don't think that bike was designed as road bike.
@Ken, a Scott! (looks jelously at her bike)
Quik, I wouldn't dream of cycling that far yet, especially since I am now just getting back into the habit. London is a nightmare to cycle around in but I will get used to it.
Yeah, got myself a Scott Contessa 50. It's just an entry level bike but works so good especially for beginner like myself who hadn't been riding for almost 10 years!
Great buy. I would probably go for something a little bit better (£400 up) but since you are just getting back into biking that would do. Personally I would replace the fork first if I were you.
I remember my first bike, it was when when I was 6 years old, it was really small, I liked too much, it and the price didn't care at that moment.
